About this file
This is an Emergency Purchase Extension Approval form from the State of Illinois Chief Procurement Office for General Services for the Department of Transportation (DOT) Operations Division to extend an emergency contract with Swenson Spreader, LLC. The contract covers snowplow repair parts and accessories needed for winter operations, with an original emergency term from December 12, 2024 to March 11, 2025, and a requested extension period from March 12, 2025 to June 30, 2025. The scope of work involves providing Swenson Brand spreader parts and maintenance equipment to keep snow removal equipment operational during winter months. The extension does not change the original scope of work.
The original contract amount was $500,000 (estimated), with no additional funds requested for the extension period ($0). There is no Business Enterprise Program (BEP) participation on this contract as no BEP vendors supply these parts. The emergency procurement was necessitated by the Department's need to maintain winter snow removal operations while waiting for a CMS Master replacement contract. A competitive procurement is currently in process, with CMS working on a master contract. The extension was approved with signatures from the APO (February 19, 2025), SPO (February 20, 2025), and CPO (February 21, 2025).
