About the Foreign Service Institute The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) is the training bureau of the U.S. Department of State (DOS) and a principal training institution for the U.S.

Government foreign affairs community. Its mission is to develop the men and women our nation requires to fulfill our role as a leader in global affairs and to advance and defend U.S. interests.

At the George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center (NFATC), located in Arlington, VA, as well as at other domestic and overseas regional training centers, FSI processes over 100,000 student enrollments annually from the DOS and more than forty other government agencies and the military service branches, offers more than 700 classroom courses, including some seventy foreign languages, about 270 custom-developed distance learning products, and about 2,700 commercial distance learning courses that are available worldwide 24/7 online.

Learning Management System Industry Day Event This event will provide general information about FSI’s mission needs and future requirements in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 15.202 as part of continuing market research. Future requirements may include the services of a contractor to provide all of the computing and support services required to plan, deploy, and integrate an enterprise-wide Learning Management System (LMS) and collaboration environment into a target environment that is compliant with DOS policies.

Question and Answer Session During the Industry Day event, questions will only be accepted in writing utilizing the Question Forms that will be provided during the event. No verbal questions will be taken during the initial briefings. Clarification opportunities may occur during the Question and Answer session. The FSI LMS Industry Day will be recorded and made available for future reference.

In the event that the Government sees multiple questions with similar phrasing, only one response will be provided for brevity. Comments will not be shared or published. They will be used, along with the questions, to finalize market research and develop the RFP. Any comments received will be considered for inclusion into the RFP with the final decision left to the discretion of the Government.
