SAMPLE CLIENT NOTIFICATION LETTER

(This letter or a similar letter should be issued to all prospective past performance references as outlined in your Business Proposal, Section L.)

Dear ___, We are currently preparing a response to the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Request for Proposals (RFP) _________, for the procurement of Residential Reentry Center services in __________.

In accordance with the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (Public Law 103‑355), Section 1091, the BOP places significant emphasis on past performance as a key source selection factor.

As part of their evaluation, the BOP requires offerors to identify client references and request their participation in the past performance review process.

If the BOP contacts you regarding work our organization has performed, you are fully authorized to respond and provide the requested information. Please note that while the past performance details you provide may be shared with us, the Federal Acquisition Regulation Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (FAR RFO) 15.301‑1(d)(4) prohibits the release of the names of the individuals supplying the reference information. For this reason, we respectfully request your honest and candid assessment of our performance.

We have identified Mr./Ms. ________ and Mr./Ms. ___________ from your organization as the points of contact based on their direct knowledge of our work. Your cooperation and support are greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions, please contact ___________.

Sincerely,
