Waterline model of modern container ship, on wood base with plexi case: black hull, white superstructure aft with black funnel bearing APL spread-eagle logo, slightly raised focsle, gray decks. Main deck loaded with containers. Vessel not indentified, uncertain whether or not built.

SAFR 25642 4 masted barkentine ECHO
Four-masted barkentine model of the ECHO is mounted on keel and bilge blocks as if the model was in a dry dock. Vessel is constructed of wood using plank on frame, replicating the construction of a full-sized barkentine. There are three hatches on the main deck with one being open to allow visual access to the interior. Deck hardware is located appropriately on the fore, main, and poop decks. Masts surrounded by fife rails replete with flaked and hung lines. The after cabin and deck have fire buckets, ladders, life ring, and a partially opened door as well as sawhorses and a toolbox with tools, as if workmen had just left and would be back soon. Fore and aft cabins painted white.

SAFR 24079 MODEL: CALIFORNIA (2M SCHOONER PILOT BOAT, 1924)
Model of the 2-masted schooner California, which served as a Pilot Boat on and right outside San Francisco Bay. The model is mounted on a marine railway as though in dry dock. This marine railway is attached to a length of board that has been finished with beveled edges and sits on top of the case base that houses the model. The hull is painted red to the waterline and then white above that point. The rigging and fittings are detailed and intact. There is a pilot house near the stern with the word "PILOT" painted in large block letters on both the port and starboard sides of the house. Three small boats are lashed on the deck at midships (one on the port side, one on the starboard side, and one on the centerline). The ship's name, "CALIFORNIA," is painted on the port and starboard sides near both the bow and the stern. The case is Plexiglas with a wooden base that is slightly larger than the board the model is mounted on. A small square plaque with a color image of the vessel and identifying information is located on the mount board near the model's bow on its port side.
A second plaque, rectangular in shape and made of brass, is attached to the mount board at the stern of the model. This one gives information about the vessel, model maker, and the year the model was built.

SAFR 25181 MODEL, KAYAK
(a) Model is constructed out of seal skin stretched over a wooden frame with lashing for fastenings. The wooden framing consists of long, narrow stringers attached to curved cross-sectional frames. There are spaces between the stringers. There is a circular cockpit opening in the center of the boat. The bow rises up to form a vertical surface that has a large circular opening in it.
The stern is sharper and lower in shape.
(b) One two-bladed paddle is made of wood. The shaft is rounded then flattens into the paddle blades.
(c) One wooden harpoon shaft.
(d) One wooden shaft with a curved end attached to a bag of quills and lines.?
(e) One wooden shaft with a carved pointed end.
(f) Three quills Two unidentified struts or frames or stringers.

Condition notes: The are broken skin on either side of the centerline near the bow as well as a tear near the front of the cockpit.
Expected needs: Cleaning and stabilization for preservation.
SAFR 25641 Model, Henry B. Hyde
Three-masted full-rigged ship model of the HENRY B. HYDE is mounted on a rectangular board attached by two square shaped pegs fastened to the ship’s keel. Four carved wooden dolphins with their tails flipped up support the ship on its port and starboard sides at about the turn of the bilge and directly in line with the two keel posts. There is a brass plaque with the ship’s name attached to the mount board in the front right-hand corner. The hull is constructed of wooden planks and the half below the waterline is shielded with copper plating. The ship’s deck is also planked and covered with the appropriate deck hardware (capstan, catheads, anchors, cleats, bollards, etc.). There is a fore and an aft cabin. Atop the aft cabin are two small boats turned upside down and lashed in place. Two more small boats are stored in a similar manner atop a bracket system just aft of midship. All three masts are accurately rigged and detailed with belaying pins, lines, deadeyes, blocks, etc.
