About this file

The document is a Section D-3 Supplemental Conditions file from the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District for a wildlife-friendly fencing project on Conservation Grazing Units located in San Mateo County, California. The project involves constructing livestock fencing at four specific Open Space Preserves: Purisima Creek Redwoods, Cloverdale Ranch, Russian Ridge, and Skyline Ridge. The construction work is scheduled to be completed by July 2, 2025, with specific working hours restricted to 10-hour periods between 07:00 and 17:00, Monday through Friday, excluding government holidays. The project requires extensive environmental sensitivity, including mandatory worker education seminars delivered by qualified biologists, strict wildlife protection protocols, and adherence to local, state, and federal environmental regulations.

The contract includes comprehensive requirements for environmental compliance, storm water management, and waste stream diversion. The contractor must prepare a waste-stream diversion plan and is required to recycle 100% of concrete, non-treated wood, steel, metal, and cabling. Weekly progress meetings will be conducted to review safety incidents, construction schedules, work progress, and project milestones. The project sites have limited access, with manual gates and unimproved driveways, and contractors must coordinate closely with the District Representative. No specific budget is detailed in the document, but the project emphasizes environmental protection, wildlife conservation, and careful management of the grazing units through wildlife-friendly fencing infrastructure.
