About this file
This Scope of Work document from the City of Taylor, Michigan outlines freight logistics support services for the return shipment of two unused commercial kitchen ranges totaling approximately 1,180 pounds. The City requires Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipping services to transport one 36-inch 6-burner commercial gas range (Model 290-C36S6LP, ~520 lbs) and one 36-inch griddle thermo range (Model 290-C36S36GTLP, ~660 lbs) from the City facility at 23555 Goddard Road, Taylor, Michigan 48180 to the manufacturer's authorized return facility at Vulcan Hart/ITW, 3600 North Point Boulevard, Dundalk, Maryland 21222, in compliance with Return Authorization #122753. The solicitation (Solicitation Number 050626-01) requires qualified freight carriers to submit all-inclusive quotes by May 15, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., with quote opening scheduled for May 18, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The question submission deadline is May 12, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. This represents a single shipment rather than an ongoing contract with no specified renewal options.
Carrier quotes must include total freight cost, liftgate service confirmation, estimated pickup and delivery dates, insurance coverage details, NMFC freight class designation, and any accessorial charges. Required services include liftgate pickup with advance appointment scheduling, transport in original packaging with proper securing and protection, and delivery to the authorized return facility with tracking number provision within 24 hours of pickup and Bill of Lading documentation clearly displaying the RMA number. The procurement documents do not specify a set-aside designation, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, incumbent vendors, or a listed budget range; however, the BAFO addendum indicates initial cost proposals exceeded the City's independent cost estimate, requiring bidders to submit their most competitive pricing. Evaluation criteria include total cost, ability to meet RMA requirements, carrier reliability and safety record, delivery timeline, and quote completeness. Interested parties should direct inquiries to Ben Clayton, Purchasing Agent and Project Manager, at bclayton@cityoftaylormi.gov or (734) 374-1459.
