About this file

This document is a Bid Bond template issued by the State of Colorado Office of the State Architect State Buildings Program for a specific project at Colorado State University. The bid bond relates to the Rockwell Hall Courtyard Remodel Landscaping project, for which Facilities Management is seeking competitive documented quote responses from qualified landscaping and irrigation contractors. The bid bond requires the principal (bidding contractor) to maintain their proposal in full force for 30 days after proposal opening, and if awarded, to execute the required agreement, performance bond, labor and material payment bond, and provide necessary insurance documentation.

The bid bond mandates a proposal guaranty of 5% of the total bid price, which would be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event of default by the principal. The document outlines specific requirements for corporate signatures, including provisions that if the principal is a corporation, the bid bond must be signed by an officer (President or Vice President) and attested by the Secretary with a corporate seal. A power of attorney must accompany the bid bond, and failure to provide a properly executed bid bond and power of attorney will result in the bidder's proposal being deemed non-responsive.
