About this file
This is a Statement of Work for the development of high-precision gold-plated mirrors for a swath-mapping space lidar prototype operating at 1550 nm. The contractor shall manufacture three types of mirrors for the transmitter optics subsystem, with a total of six mirrors required (two of each type).
Transmitter Mirror 3 requires two units with 66 mm diameter aluminum RSA-6061 substrate, 64 mm clear aperture, and concave surface with radius of curvature of 313.851 ± 0.1 mm. Transmitter Mirror 4 requires two units with 25.4 mm diameter and 23 mm clear aperture with concave surface radius of curvature of 104.617 ± 0.1 mm. The Transmitter Mirror Collimator requires two units with identical dimensions to Mirror 4 but with 121.618 ± 0.1 mm radius of curvature. All three mirror types share common specifications including aluminum substrate material, enhanced gold coating with dielectric coating across the 1520-1580 nm waveband with minimum 95% reflectance, RMS surface figure irregularity less than 55 nm on primary surfaces, 40 Å surface roughness on primary surfaces, 75 Å on secondary surfaces, 0.25-0.5 mm 45-degree chamfers, protective coatings on secondary surfaces, black anodized finish, and specific scratch/dig tolerances (40/20 for primary surfaces, 60/40 for secondary surfaces). The place of performance is NASA GSFC, Code 698, Build 34, Room W294, Greenbelt, Maryland 20771, with a period of performance of 20 weeks from award. Detailed technical drawings are available upon request.
