About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for RFQ 80NSSC26931778Q concerning the procurement of aluminum off-axis parabola mirrors for a lunar lidar prototype. The document addresses vendor inquiries regarding surface specifications and does not contain pricing terms, response dates, or award information.

The customer response clarifies that Surface 1 (S1) is the primary optical surface of the mirror. Surfaces 2, 3, and 4 (S2, S3, S4) are reflective planar surfaces designated for alignment reference purposes and require coating. S2 is positioned on the back of the mirror in its center, while S3 and S4 are located on the sides and oriented perpendicular to the parent axis. The customer indicates that complete specifications for all surfaces are provided in the associated technical drawings.

Vendor Question 1:

The optical surface is understood to be Surface 1. The remaining surface references are currently ambiguous. Are you able to provide clarification?

Customer Response Question 1:

S1 is the optical surface. S2, S3, S4 are reflective surfaces to be used as alignment references. They are planar and need to be coated.

S2 is located in the middle of the mirror's back.

S3 and S4 are on the sides and perpendicular to the parent axis.

These are all specified in the drawings.
