About this file
This is a Performance Bond template document associated with the City of Meriden, Connecticut's Request for Qualifications/Proposals (RFQ/P026-30) for architectural and design services. The bond serves as a financial guarantee instrument requiring the selected contractor to complete the Public Works Facility addition project at 55 Michael Drive in accordance with contract terms and specifications. A mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for October 9, 2025, at 10:00 am, with proposals due by October 23, 2025, at 11:30 am. Evaluation of submissions will occur on October 30, 2025, with interviews potentially scheduled for November 3, 2025, and an anticipated contract award date of November 6, 2025. The performance bond obligates the contractor and surety to promptly and faithfully perform all contract work or face liability for completion costs and associated damages.
The bond amount is to be determined and filled in at contract execution. The document establishes that the surety waives notice of alterations, defaults, or time extensions made by the owner, and the owner may elect to either complete the contract directly or obtain competitive bids for completion work. The bond requires that any legal action must be instituted within two years from the date final payment is due. The City of Meriden requires participating firms to maintain comprehensive insurance coverage, including $1,000,000 in Commercial General Liability, $1,000,000 in Business Automobile Liability, statutory Workers' Compensation, and $2,000,000 in Professional Liability/Errors and Omissions Coverage. Contractors must comply with prevailing wage regulations and submit certified payroll documentation. The specific bond amount and contract value are not disclosed in the available documentation.
