About this file
This is a Performance Bond template document applicable to the City of Meriden, Connecticut Parks & Recreation Department's B026-33 contract for refurbishment of the Hubbard Park Pool Filtration System located at 999 West Main Street, Meriden. The performance bond serves as a financial guarantee mechanism requiring the contractor and a surety to bind themselves jointly and severally to the owner (City of Meriden) for the faithful and prompt performance of the contracted work in accordance with all drawings, specifications, and contract terms prepared by the designated engineer or architect. The bond obligates the surety to either remedy any contractor default or arrange for completion of the work by obtaining competitive bids and contracting with the lowest responsible bidder, with funds made available as work progresses.
The performance bond is issued in a specified dollar amount to be determined at contract execution and includes provisions for cost completion less any remaining contract balance. The surety waives notice of any contract alterations, defaults, or time extensions made by the owner. Any legal action under the bond must be initiated within two years from the date final payment becomes due under the contract. The bond's protections are limited exclusively to the named owner and do not extend to any other persons or entities, establishing this as a singular obligation between the contractor, surety, and the City of Meriden for completion of the pool filtration system refurbishment project.
