About this file

This is an Insurance Requirements document issued by the City of Meriden, Connecticut, establishing mandatory coverage specifications for contractors and vendors engaged in municipal contracts, specifically for the Hubbard Park Pool Filtration System project. The document mandates that all contractors maintain continuous insurance coverage throughout the contract term with the City of Meriden named as an Additional Insured on a primary and non-contributory basis for all policies except Workers' Compensation. All policies must include a Waiver of Subrogation and be written with carriers approved in Connecticut holding a minimum AM Best's rating of "A-"VIII.

The minimum coverage requirements include General Liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Auto Liability of $1,000,000 combined single limit, and Umbrella/Excess Liability with per-project aggregate coverage. Workers' Compensation must meet statutory limits with Employers' Liability coverage of $1,000,000 per accident, per employee, and policy limit. Contractors must submit original, completed Certificates of Insurance to the City of Meriden prior to contract issuance and provide replacement certificates at least 30 days before policy expiration. For claims-made policies, continuous renewal is required for a minimum of two years following contract completion, with expiring policies endorsed to extend reporting periods accordingly. Contractors must notify the City of Meriden in writing within 30 days of any policy cancellation, limit reduction, or coverage alteration.
