About this file
This document is a quick start guide for new foreign registrations in the System for Award Management (SAM) to do business with the U.S. Government. The guide outlines a 4-step process to register in SAM, which is required for all vendors and contractors who receive awards over $30,000. The steps include: 1) Requesting a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number, 2) Obtaining a NATO Commercial and Government Entity (NCAGE) code, 3) Registering the entity in SAM, and 4) Renewing the SAM registration annually. The guide provides instructions and links for each step, as well as information on the timeframe, cost, and required documentation. It also includes details on the SAM renewal process.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the procurement of 2 pick-up trucks 4x4 AT with diesel engines and 5 seats. The RFQ is being issued by the Department of State, with a submission deadline of August 29, 2024 at 17:00 local time. The U.S. Government intends to award a contract/purchase order to the responsible company submitting the lowest technically acceptable quotation. Bidders must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at the time of quotation submission.

The vendors and contractors who receive awards over $10,000 but less than $30,000 are required to have Unique Entity Identification number in SAM.
Start early! The entire registration process takes an average of 5~10 days to complete.
SAM is FREE to apply and renew on the website https://www.sam.gov. There is NO CHARGE to register or maintain your registration record in SAM website.
Make sure the person in your company who registers in SAM has a stable/regular email, and that all others in charge in your company know this email address when it is time to renew.
Registering in SAM is a 3-step process
Step 1. Request an Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number for free at SAM.GOV as the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uv1YNAsINk . This takes up to 1 business days.
