The contract is a multi-year, firm fixed-price agreement for 36 pallets (1,764 bags of 50lb salt) to be delivered twice annually - 18 pallets in August and 18 pallets in February - to support fish transportation operations. The contract period spans a base year from July 1st, 2025 to July 1st, 2029, with four potential option years, and is specifically designed to provide salt for fish transport tanks to reduce fish mortality, as recommended by the Fish and Wildlife's 2008 Biological Opinion.

Delivery requirements include transportation on a flatbed truck to 6525 Lindeman Road, Byron, CA, with deliveries scheduled between 8:00am and 2:30pm, Monday through Friday. The facility operates 24/7, with a government-provided forklift for offloading. The contractor must provide a point of contact for salt ordering, and invoicing will be electronic, with payment processed under the Prompt Payment Act. The facility has specific security protocols, including gate access requirements, and observes a list of federal holidays when the facility will be closed.

Government Owned Fleet Tank Trucks. The Fish and Wildlife’s 2008 Biological

Opinion states any Hauling Trucks used to transport salvaged fish to release sites must inject oxygen into the tanks and must also contain an eight parts per thousand SALT solution to reduce stress, and this may reduce the chance of mortality in the fish that is transported in the tanks.
