The primary objective is to upgrade the existing turf in the obedience yard to a state-of-the-art pet-friendly turf, ensuring optimal drainage capabilities to prevent flooding during adverse weather conditions while prioritizing the safety and well-being of Military Working Dogs during training exercises.

2. Pre-Installation Requirements:

Prior to the installation of the turf, the following steps must be completed:

-Removal of pre-existing turf.

-Ground leveling to ensure uniformity and stability.

-Installation of a robust drainage system to mitigate flooding risks.

-Replacement of the turf with high-quality pet-friendly artificial grass.

-Implementation of measures to minimize paw injuries to Military Working Dogs during training sessions.

3. Components and Specifications of Turf:

-Premium artificial grass with a finished pile height of 1 ½ inches and a finished pile weight of 80 oz, providing durability and resilience suitable for rigorous training activities.

-Geo-textile fabric installation to enhance stability and prevent weed growth.

-Perimeter nailer board system installation to secure the turf perimeter effectively.

4. Components and Specifications of Drainage System:

-Installation of a comprehensive drainage system designed to efficiently channel water away from the turf area, reducing the risk of flooding and waterlogging.

-Utilization of 2-3 inches of 3/8” crushed washed stone for the base, providing a stable foundation for the drainage system.

-Compact compaction of the stone base to ensure structural integrity and longevity.

5. Pet-Friendly Features:

-Incorporation of pet deodorizing infill at a rate of approximately 2 lbs per square foot, enhancing odor control and hygiene within the training area.

-Implementation of turf specifications aimed at reducing the roughness of the surface, thereby minimizing the risk of paw injuries to Military Working Dogs during training exercises.
