About this file
This is a Salient Characteristics document for a federal contract opportunity requiring delivery of an optical characterization system to the Adelphi Laboratory Center (ALC) in Adelphi, MD 20783-1138, FOB Destination.
The contractor must deliver one tunable laser with operational wavelength range of 1480-1640 nanometers, wavelength setting resolution of 0.1 picometers, peak output power of 15 dBm, full range output power of 10 dBm or greater across the operational range, linewidth of 20 kilohertz, signal to total source spontaneous emission ratio greater than 70 dB, signal to source spontaneous emission ratio greater than 80 dB/nm, output coupled into polarization maintaining fiber with FC-APC connector, 1-year warranty, USB communication capability, dimensions of 220mm x 385mm x 130mm, and tested driver compatibility with Maple Leaf Photonics Fotonica software suite. The contractor must also deliver one multipower power meter mainframe with swept test system control software, dimensions of 220mm x 385mm x 130mm, GPIB and ethernet interface connectivity, and tested driver compatibility with Maple Leaf Photonics Fotonica software suite. Additionally, one power meter module is required with InGaAs sensor element, wavelength range of 1240-1680 nanometers, power dynamic range of -80 dBm to +10 dBm, maximum safe power limit of +16 dBm, total uncertainty of ±5%, power resolution of 0.001 dB, linearity of ±0.03 dB, averaging time range of 10 microseconds to 10 seconds, data logging capability of 1,000,000 x 2 buffer per port, and 4 ports with FC fiber connectivity. The document was signed by Contracting Officer Alex Cheatham on 7/16/2026. A Commercial Availability Certification confirms all salient characteristics are available in the commercial marketplace.
