Summary of Specifications: SetaFlash Series 8 Flash Point Testers
This is a specification document for the procurement of a flash point tester by Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, dated 05 May 2026. The requirement specifies the purchase of one Setaflash Series 8 C/Cup (Part Number 82000-2 U), a fully integrated, portable fuel testing laboratory system designed to perform aviation fuel quality control tests mandated prior to fuel certification for flight. The system must comply with ASTM D7236 and carry current Air Force Petroleum Office (AFPET) approval for use in USAF Fuels Laboratories. Key technical specifications include: test results provided in under 2 minutes using 4 ml or less sample size; operating temperature range of -30°C to 135°C without external cooling; internal memory capacity of minimum 100,000 test results with USB export capability; and an internal barometer for automatic barometric pressure correction.
The contractor must provide the tester with specified components and spare parts including a flash detector, high temperature ignitor for Series 8 and Series 3, sample well O-ring, 2 ml syringe, serial printer with paper, and a shipping case (25" x 24" x 14", approximately 50 lbs). A hand-held digital thermometer (Model P4000-PT, range -50/400°C) with NIST-traceable ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration report at 0, 50, and 100°C must also be supplied. The vendor is required to provide a minimum 3-year warranty covering all parts and labor. Delivery is to be made to 325th LRS /LGRF / 315 Mississippi Ave / Tyndall AFB, FL 32403-5208, with Point of Contact Captain Amanda Hopkins (850-283-9385 or amanda.hopkins.2@us.af.mil).
