About this file
This is a specifications document for the purchase of a Setaflash Series 8 Flash Point Tester (Model Number: 82100-2) for Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida.
The procurement requires a fully integrated, portable fuel testing laboratory system capable of performing aviation fuel quality control tests mandated prior to fuel certification for flight. The system must be fully compliant with ASTM D7236 and have current Air Force Petroleum Office (AFPET) approval for use in USAF Fuels Laboratories. Required performance specifications include: results provided in under 2 minutes using a sample size of 4 ml or less; operating temperature range of at least -30°C to 135°C without external cooling units; internal memory capacity of minimum 100,000 test results with USB export capability; an internal barometer that automatically applies barometric pressure correction; and electric ignitors. The contractor must provide the tester with specified components and spare parts including a flash detector, high temperature ignitor for Series 8 and Series 3, sample well O-ring, 2 ml syringe, serial printer, printer paper, shipping case, and a hand-held digital thermometer (model P4000-PT) with NIST traceable calibration. A minimum 3-year warranty covering all parts and labor is required. Delivery is to be made to 325th LRS /LGRF / 315 Mississippi Ave / Tyndall AFB, FL 32403-5208, with Capt Amanda Hopkins serving as the POL contact (850-283-9385 or amanda.hopkins.2@us.af.mil).
