About this file

This document specifies verified salient characteristics and technical requirements for a sole source federal contract procurement. The Contractor must provide the InBody model 770S (Product Number: IN BODY 770S), a bioelectrical impedance analysis device with five essential technical specifications that differentiate it from competing products and justify the sole source acquisition.

The device must utilize Direct Segmental Multi-Frequency Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (DSM-BIA) via an 8-point tactile electrode system measuring thumbs, palms, heels, and soles of feet. It must conduct 30 unique impedance measurements using six distinct frequencies (1, 5, 50, 250, 500, and 1000 kHz) across five body segments. Results must be calculated purely from direct impedance measurements without relying on empirical estimations or statistical data such as age, gender, or body type. The system must generate two distinct result sheets: one for Body Composition Analysis (Skeletal Muscle Mass, Percent Body Fat, Visceral Fat Level) and one for advanced Body Water Analysis (Intracellular Water, Extracellular Water, and ECW/TBW ratio for edema and inflammation analysis). Additionally, the device must maintain an internal database capable of storing a minimum of 100,000 historical tests and operate in standalone mode without mandatory internet connectivity.

VERIFIED SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS /TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Contractor must provide the In Body model 770S (Product Number: IN BODY 770S), which possesses the following essential, salient characteristics. These technical requirements are what make this device unique and are the basis for the sole source requirement.

1. Measurement Methodology: Must utilize Direct Segmental Multi-Frequency Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (DSM-BIA) via an 8-point tactile electrode system (thumbs, palms, heels, and soles of feet).

2. Frequencies: Must conduct 30 unique impedance measurements using 6 distinct frequencies (1, 5, 50, 250, 500, and 1000 kHz} across 5 body segments.

3. Empirical Independence: Results must be calculated purely from direct impedance measurements. The system must not use empirical estimations or statistical data {age, gender, body type} to formulate or alter body composition results.

4. Dual-Domain Outputs: Must generate two distinct and separate result sheets:

a Body Composition Analysis {Skeletal Muscle Mass, Percent Body Fat, Visceral Fat Level} and an advanced Body Water Analysis {Intracellular Water, Extracellular Water, and the ECW/TBW ratio for edema and inflammation analysis}.

5. Data Capacity & Operation: Internal database must store a minimum of 100,000 historical tests. The system must be capable of operating in a standalone mode without a mandatory internet connection.
