About this file

This document outlines the salient characteristics for a Mixed Reality Firearm Training System procurement requirement. The system must include augmented and virtual reality headsets that can be mounted to operators, with or without attached computers, and support simultaneous training scenarios for multiple operators. The model firearms must simulate recoil, magazine replacement, bolt lock-back on empty magazines, weapon position and cant, and weapon malfunctions. The system must be compatible with AR-15/M4 Carbine and SIG M18/P320 firearms, either through attachment to existing firearms or proprietary models.

The system requires a programmable scenario interface with interactive capabilities and adjustable parameters, along with an After-Action Report system capable of analyzing shot trajectory, personnel placement, movement patterns, and providing walk-through replay functionality. A critical operational requirement is that the system must function without a constant internet connection, enabling standalone deployment in training environments where connectivity may be limited or unavailable.
