Selection of Serena & Lilly and Niagara furniture as a basis for the salient characteristics and for a brand name or equal equivalent is due to the unique role which the furniture will fulfill. Installed in the historic Palm 5 on Fort Shafter, the furniture will be frontward facing where the USARPAC Commanding General will host official visits for multinational partners, U.S. government officials of various capacities, and other General Officers and Admirals of similar rank. As such, the furniture is required to meet elevated standards of quality and aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, this furniture requires durability as it will remain in the home for no less than 7 years as mandated by

Army regulation, or until such a time that the furniture is unserviceable or deemed uneconomical to repair. The classic look and superiority of materials of Serena & Lilly and Niagara furniture meet both the requirements as well as matches the historic aesthetic of historic Palm Circle.
