About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) spreadsheet for a VA Medical Center restroom renovation project at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center. The project involves renovating common area restrooms across multiple floors and buildings, with specific requirements including ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) compliance, potential asbestos and lead abatement, HVAC modifications, and bathroom infrastructure updates. Key project parameters include a 730-day performance period, a 365-calendar day completion timeline from Notice to Proceed, and a daily liquidated damages rate of $768.96.
The RFI addresses 54 detailed questions covering technical specifications, project logistics, safety protocols, and construction requirements. Critical elements include contractor responsibilities for phasing (no more than three restrooms under construction simultaneously), maintaining alternate bathroom access, service elevator usage, HVAC system modifications, and strict infection control measures. The project requires specialized roles including a superintendent, Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO), and Quality Control/Quality Assurance personnel, with specific restrictions on role combinations. The renovation will involve demolition, potential hazardous material remediation, and installation of new fixtures, with alternates for existing locker reuse.
