About this file

This document is a Bid Proposal for the renovation of common area restrooms at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center (Contract 573-20-604). The base bid and three alternates are detailed, with each option presenting variations in project scope and complexity. The base bid involves general construction, alterations, and removal of existing structures, with an estimated completion time of 730 calendar days.

The alternates progressively reduce scope by deducting specific restrooms (D304-1 and D304A-1 on the first floor of building 1) and introducing additional cost-saving measures. Alternate No. 2 and No. 3 include provisions for unit costs related to asbestos removal, lead removal, site preparation, and PCB caulk removal, referencing survey reports dated May 2022. Alternate No. 3 further reduces costs by proposing reuse of existing lockers instead of installing new ones. Each alternate maintains a reduced estimated completion time of 700 calendar days, offering the government flexible bidding options with potential cost efficiencies.
