RFQ RRB16Q0004
Amendment A001 Attachment 1 Vendor Questions Regarding RFQ RRB16Q0004 for RRB Service Awards
Question 1: Could you provide the Bid Tab for the last time these Items were procured?
RRB Response 1: The total amount of the awards issued by the RRB in FY 2015 for the purchase of career service awards was $31,076.00.
Question 2: Could you provide average expected numbers/year for each of the 40 items? If so we could provide a much more realistic bid rather than base pricing on single unit procurements.
RRB Response 2: The RRB has provided the exact quantity ordered for each of the service award items listed in Attachment A for the most recent order completed for career services awards. The RRB estimates the order for the base year to be similar to these quantities, but we are unable to estimate the amount of service award items that will be ordered beyond the base year.
Question 3: Ref: Attachment A
a. For all items that include engraving, can you provide fonts size and style?
RRB Response 3a: As indicated in paragraph B of the SOW, the RRB will review/evaluate the style and fonts after award with the selected contractor. The current contractor provides a varied number of font sizes given the engraving needs differ based on the item being engraved.
b. Could you provide vector art of the RRB Seal?
RRB Response 3b: The RRB does not have a vector art file of the RRB Seal.
c. Is it a firm requirement that Item 4 be Italian made?
RRB Response 3c: No – the descriptions in Attachment A were intended to be examples of the quality of award items the RRB is expecting.
d. For Item 8 can you provide the “service information”?
RRB Response 3d: An example of the service information is as follows:
20 YEARS RRB SERVICE (MONTH) (DAY), 2017
20 YEARS FEDERAL SERVICE (MONTH)(DAY), 2017
e. For Item 35, what is the size of the pedestal?
RRB Response 3e: The pedestal is approximately 7” x 7” x 3 ½”.
f. For Item 36, what is the size of the pedestal?
RRB Response 3f: The pedestal is approximately 3 ¾” x 3 ¾” x 2”.
Question 4: Ref: Attachment B 4a. Could you provide specs for items 9, 10, 15, 16, 24, 26, 31, 39 and 40 where there is no sample photo.
RRB Response 4a: See Attachment A for the specifications in the descriptions for each service award item. The RRB cannot provide further details for the service award items. All available sample photos of the service award items were provided in Attachment B.
4b. Could you provide specs for the remaining items (1-8, 11-14, 17-23, 25, 28, 29, 32-37) where a photo was provided, but a spec would provide the detail needed to make an accurate bid.
RRB Response 4b: See Attachment A for the specifications in the descriptions for each service award item. The RRB cannot provide further details for the service award items. All available sample photos of the service award items were provided in Attachment B.
4c. Items 27, 30, 38 are said to have samples, but there were none. Could you provide specs for these items?
RRB Response 4c: See the updated Attachment B included with this Amendment A001 for sample pictures of the requested items.
4d. The 40 year Key Ring is referenced as Item 35 when it is actually Item 34 RRB Response 4d: Correct, it is item 34. This has been corrected on the updated Attachment B included with this Amendment A001.
| Question 5: | Should the 30-year bracelet and brooch each get 3 – 3 pt. diamonds in the | |
| emblem, not 2? |
| RRB Response 5: Yes. The bracelet and the brooch should each get 3 – 3 |
| pt. diamonds instead of 2. |
Question 6: What quality is the DIAMOND?
| RRB Response 6: The diamond is faceted 2/100 carat, faceted 3/100 carat, |
| faceted 6/100 carat as appropriate for the item. |
| Question 7: | What are the dimensions and/or pennyweight of the manufactured emblems? | |
| RRB Response 7: The emblems are 5/16 in diameter. |
Question 8: What is the quality of the 45, 50 year signet ring? What is the pennyweight? Is the crest on the ring gold-filled, or karated? (Rings cannot be gold-filled, nor can a die cast emblem be gold-filled.)
RRB Response 8: The 45 year ring is 10KG a gold-filled signet style ring with three (3) 6 point diamonds. The 50 year ring is a 10KG gold-filled signet style ring with four (4) 6 point diamonds. The female ring weighs 0.2
