About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details the removal and replacement of Reverse Osmosis (RO) First Pass and Second Pass Pumps at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) in Portsmouth, VA, located in Dry Dock 4. The work involves the contractor performing pump removal, loosely reassembling and boxing the existing pumps, and then installing new government-furnished material (GFM) pumps. The contractor is required to debug and conduct shipboard operational testing of the installed pumps, coordinating with NNSY C246 Test Engineering Division's planned test procedures.
Key requirements include performing all mechanical services in accordance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications, assisting with rigging and electrical services, and following specific base access and security protocols. The work is part of an availability work package with specific line items, and contractors must obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential for base access. Portable electronic devices are prohibited in Navy submarine spaces, and contractors may be subject to enhanced screening procedures related to health and travel considerations.
