About this file

This is Addendum #003 to a Request for Qualifications issued by the Florida Department of Corrections for Continuing Architectural/Engineering (A/E) Services for Region 1 projects. The addendum revises the timeline for the solicitation (RFQual-26-062), which was originally released on June 19, 2026. The informational meeting is scheduled for July 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time at the Florida Department of Corrections Bureau of Procurement in Tallahassee. Written inquiries must be submitted by July 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., with anticipated responses posted by August 13, 2026. Sealed qualifications are due August 27, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time, submitted to Sarah Weirick, Procurement Officer. The Selection Committee meeting is scheduled for September 2, 2026, at 11:15 a.m., and presentations from top-ranked firms are anticipated for the week of September 21-25, 2026, or the week of October 5-9, 2026, in Tallahassee, if deemed necessary by the Department. Agency selection notification is expected in October or November 2026. The resulting contract will authorize projects on an as-needed basis over a five-year term with an option to renew for an additional five-year period.

The solicitation seeks qualifications from architectural and engineering firms licensed in Florida to provide design, pre-construction, and construction-administration services for correctional and forensic building projects, including structural design, small buildings, additions, re-roofing, and renovation projects. Individual projects are capped at $4 million in construction cost, with current design funding available of $500,000 for the fiscal year. Firms must carry professional liability insurance of at least $1 million and provide a performance bond commitment of $500,000. Up to three firms may be awarded contracts. The evaluation process includes an initial screening based on submitted qualifications assessing related building experience, office and on-site staff, scheduling and cost control capabilities, information systems, and financial capability, followed by optional presentations for the top three ranked firms. Firms must demonstrate correctional or forensic project experience completed since January 2016 and provide references from at least three but no more than five governmental entities for similar services performed within the preceding three years.
