About this file

Addendum #1 for RFQ-LC-24-14 is issued by Livingston County Fiscal Services for a Parking Lot Asphalt Removal and Replacement project at the Livingston Essential Transportation Service (LETS) building in Howell, Michigan. The addendum provides clarifications and answers to potential bidders' questions, with the bid due date remaining June 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. EST. The project involves asphalt removal and replacement, including the approach off Burkhart Road, with a target 8" gravel base. The county will work flexibly with the awarded contractor on project scheduling and employee parking arrangements.

Key project details include that the pricing should be all-inclusive to 100% completion and include permit costs. The awarded contractor will be responsible for site restoration of disturbed areas. Undercutting will be determined during the project based on an inspection, potentially requiring a change order. Regarding the fuel farm access, one of two drives will remain open during construction, with drives to be shut down alternately. The pavement and concrete directly in front of the fuel farm is new and will not require work. The county will collaborate with the contractor to ensure minimal disruption to operations during the parking lot renovation.

ADDENDUM #1

The purpose of this addendum is:

• to communicate questions received, and the answers to those questions

QUESTIONS ANSWERS

Please clarify “all-inclusive price”.

We are looking for overall pricing of the project to 100% completion.

What is the target cross-section for AG base?

We aim to maintain 8” gravel base.

Is the approach off Burkhart Road included in the project? Yes.

How will you handle employee parking during the project? Do you want the project done in phases or all at once?

The County will work out schedules with the awarded contractor, and will be flexible as long as adequate notice of the timeline is communicated.

Should the pricing include the cost of permits? Yes.

Who is responsible for site restoration of areas disturbed during the project?

The awarded contractor.

How do we address undercutting, not knowing if it is necessary, and the thickness?

Undercutting will only be done if necessary, and will be determined during the project based on an inspection with the County. Depending on what is found once the project is under way, a change order might be applicable. Any change order would also address the 20AA stone for fill.

How will you address access to the fuel farm during the project?

One of the two drives (shown with green arrows below) will need to be open to allow access. The pavement and concrete directly in front of the fuel farm is new and will not need work. The two drives will need to be shut down alternately.

The bid due date remains June 28, 2024 by 2:00 p.m. EST.
