About this file

This document is an Interchange Form related to a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Brand Specific Mecho Shade Window Blinds for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Facilities Management Unit.

The RFQ is a Total Small Business Set-Aside, and the agency is the FBI Redstone Arsenal Field Office. The requirement is for Mecho shade bands only, not the full window blind hardware. Bidders can use AutoCAD drawings to determine window widths, with lengths of 66" for most areas and 111" for breakrooms. Bidders are to propose a schedule, and upon award, a facility maintenance person can assist with removing existing shades. Pricing for extra shades is specified based on width ranges. The Interchange Form addresses multiple questions from a prospective bidder regarding site visits, measurements, room details, and the potential to replace the hardware as well as the shade bands.

Do you have a list of the window measurements or ranges of sizes for the current shades that need to be replaced?

Do we have to take an entire year to do the job? Or can we do it as per our convenience and as soon as we want to?

Do you know roughly how high the shades are mounted above the floor?

Would it be possible to have a facility maintenance person remove a shade for us?

How soon can one start the job?

Is there any specific room/building you would like us to start first with?

Can you give us the exact measurements of all the shades needed and also the 53 extra:

length, width and height

Can you provide us the pictures of the windows and the existing shades?

Would you consider changing the hardware along with the shade? This way you have entirely new blinds that didn't cost you as much as just the bands.ardware along with the shade?

Widths are to come from the AutoCAD Drawings. Remaining windows not mentioned below are the 66” lengths.

Widths are to come from the AutoCAD Drawings. Rooms F1-912, A2-912, B2-

912, D2-912, E2-912, F2-912, A3-912, B3-912, D3-912, E3-912, F3-912 are breakrooms and are 111 ½” lengths.

Window widths below 50 blinds should have (1) each extra for attic stock.

Widths between 50 blinds and 75 blinds should have (3) each. Widths between

75 blinds and 150 blinds should have (7) each. Widths over 150 blinds should have the remaining number divided equally between them.

The AutoCAD drawings were provided so that the bidder could obtain their own measurements. They can use the measure tool in AutoCAD to get the widths.

The following room numbers on the provided AutoCAD drawings are breakrooms that have the 111 1/2 “ length windows; F1-912, A2-912, B2-912, D2-912, E2-

912, F2-912, A3-912, B3-912, D3-912, E3-912, F3-912. These were the curved rooms we went into during the site visit. The rest of the windows are 66” lengths.

How many shades, out of 846 to be installed, are in these 2 measurements you mentioned?

• How many shades are sized 66”? And what is its width?

• How many shades are sized 111 ½? And what is its width?

What are the width and length measurements of the shades for the extra 53 that is to be stored?
