RFQ-18-Q-0005525 Amendment 3 – Questions and Answers
Question: For this project we would need to have 250 pieces pre-made with just the plate being blank for personalization to be added on as-needed basis. Do you normally place an order for the year and then pull from that?
Answer: The FBI HRD will place an order for 175-275 awards between February-March each year, at which time production should commence.
Once the award recipients are determined by early summer, the FBI HRD will prepare a spreadsheet containing the information for each individual engraving on the name plate (i.e., Recipient Name, Award Category, and Year). This spreadsheet will be sent directly to the vendor by the FBI HRD.
If more awards have been ordered than there are recipients (e.g., 250 devices ordered, 215 recipients) in a given year, the surplus awards will be produced and shipped without personalization along with the personalized awards. The FBI HRD will maintain a small inventory of the surplus, non-personalized awards at FBIHQ. The FBI’s in-house engraver will be responsible for personalizing surplus awards on an as-needed basis.
