SOLICITATION NO. RFQ-18-PHX-07 – MEDICAL WASTE DISPOSAL SERVICES FORTHE PHOENIX

INDIAN MEDICAL CENTER (PIMC), INDIAN HEALTH SERVICE

Questions and Answers

1. Question: Per section B of the SOW it states, “The PIMC and SIHC does not have the capabilities or facilities for the proper handling and disposal of bio hazardous, chemotherapy waste, and non-hazardous medication incineration boxes…”. Is all waste to be disposed by incineration?

Answer: No, only the chemo waste is incinerated.

2. Question: If portions of the waste can be autoclaved can you please give a breakdown of the weight from each site that must be incinerated vs autoclaved?

Answer: There is no Chemo for the Sherman Indian Health Clinic. 95% percent is incinerated and 5% autoclaved.

3. Question: Are both these facilities to be picked up weekly?

Answer: Pick up should be based on the statement of work. Review the attached statement of work in the solicitation.

4. Question: Regarding Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract, does that mean that I am bidding for the removal of the 97,590 pounds (both locations added together) and will be paid that amount unless we remove more than that over the year? So the bid should be one final price, not a per pound price correct?

Answer: Bid by pricing each CLIN according to the solicitation; price per pound, then the total price per line item, then price per year, and the total in five years. Use of excel spreadsheet is not required. The award price is total of five years but the four (4) option years will be awarded (exercised) yearly based on contractor’s performance. The quantity stated is only used as estimate to have a comprehensive comparison of bids. See Below:
