About this file
This is Addendum 1 to RFQ 426528 issued by the City of Oakland's Public Works Department, Sewer Division, for wastewater lift station repair services. The RFQ seeks qualified contractors to provide maintenance and repair services for thirteen wastewater lift stations throughout Oakland, including repairs to submersible Flygt pumps, control panels, piping, float switches, and associated components. Technicians must be available during regular business hours and maintain seven-day-per-week on-call availability with a mandatory one-hour response time for after-hours, weekend, and emergency calls. The contractor is not required to maintain dedicated standby technician coverage but must meet the specified response time requirements. The contract will be awarded for an initial two-year period with an option to extend for one additional one-year period, at the City's sole discretion, with a not-to-exceed value of $250,000.
Bidders must propose fixed hourly labor rates, overtime labor rates, and miscellaneous charges that remain constant throughout the initial two-year term; if rate adjustments are necessary in the second year, the contractor must provide 60-day advance notification. Certified technicians with Flygt/Xylem factory certification are preferred, though documented experience repairing Flygt/Xylem lift station pumps and related equipment will be accepted. All quotes, pro-forma invoices, and final invoices must include a detailed breakdown of labor and material charges, with materials reflected at current market rates. No estimated annual usage data is available at this time regarding anticipated service calls or labor hours. The City of Oakland contact for this RFQ is Santiago Nocito at 1-510-238-7563 or snocito@oaklandca.gov.
