About this file
This document is an addendum to RFQ 29A 200915-60 for Exterior Election Ballot Boxes in Maine, issued on September 25, 2020. The addendum provides additional specifications for the design and construction of the ballot box units to meet functional and environmental requirements.
The specifications require several modifications to the ballot box design: installation of a hinged access door with gasket material to ensure a sealed connection; weather stripping around the bottom door to prevent moisture infiltration; a locking stop mechanism on the top door to secure the unit when voting concludes; and feet attached to the bottom of the unit for elevation and stability. The addendum references prototype photographs as visual references for the required design features.

Additional specifications (9/25/2020):
Include a hinge to the access door, and gasket material.
Bottom door should have weather stripping around it. This will prevent moisture from entering that portion.
Add a stop on the top door that gets locked when voting is over.
Add feet to the bottom of the unit.
