About this file
Addendum No. 2 for RFP-25-034-KY is issued by the City of Altamonte Springs, Florida, relating to a Conference Room Audio-Visual System Installation project. The addendum, dated May 7, 2025, primarily introduces a new requirement for a maintenance bond to be provided by the contractor upon project completion. Specifically, the contractor will need to secure a maintenance bond equal to 10% of the contract amount, which will guarantee repair or replacement of work for a two-year period after project completion. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum by signing and returning the provided acknowledgment form or updating their existing proposal submission.
The maintenance bond requirement mandates that the Surety Company provide its address and the contact information (name and telephone number) of the local agent serving the area. The bond serves as a guarantee that the contractor will address any defects that become apparent within two years after the project's completion. Bidders must obtain the bond through a surety bond agency acceptable to the City, with the expectation that they will proactively manage and rectify any issues that arise during the specified two-year maintenance period. This addendum ensures the City's interests are protected by providing a mechanism for quality assurance and potential remediation of any system installation deficiencies.
