Summary of Addendum No. 1 to RFP SC-26-699

This is an addendum to Request for Proposal No. SC-26-699 issued by AMES National Laboratory dated June 18, 2026. The addendum extends the proposal due date from June 19, 2026 at 4 p.m. CDT to June 23, 2026 at 4 p.m. CDT, providing four additional days for submission. The addendum also documents seven questions and answers from the mandatory pre-proposal meeting held on June 4, 2026, addressing technical and specification requirements for concrete work at two locations: TASF and Metals Development.

Key technical specifications clarified include: fiber reinforcement requirements (steel or synthetic fibers comprising approximately 1% volume per ASTM C1116/C1116M); joint sealant application limited to isolation joints between existing and new concrete, excluding sawcut control joints; and all new handrails and accessories to be quoted with suitable replacements. For TASF, contractors must provide quotes for two concrete color options (Red & Gray replacement in-kind, and Grey); for Metals Development, only Grey concrete is required with standard saw cuts rather than matching existing patterns. Paint lines on the Metals Development entryway do not require maintenance. Crane work at the Metals Development south entrance is estimated to remain on-site through July 31, 2026. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged.
