Refer to the Sample STD 213, Scope of Work and Payment Provisions attached to this RFP as Exhibit A.

California Prison Industry Authority (CALPIA) operates thirteen facilities throughout the state providing California Code of Regulations Title 22 compli ant laundry to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and other state, city and county agencies. In accordance with the California State Governor’s Emergency Drought Declaration order, CALPIA has researched efforts to conserve water and has identified the laundries as a key target of these efforts.

Currently, CALPIA has two laundries with operating water reclamation systems and plans to install a system at CIM Laundry by June 15, 2016. See Attachment R “Facility Information” for information pertaining to the site. The system for CIM is funded by a Department of General Services Water Conservation Grant Program.

All installation shall be performed in accordance with the local codes and regulations. All materials used on this project will be per specifications and schedules quoted unless prior approval for substitution is granted by CALPIA.

CALPIA recognizes that Bidders may be able to offer multiple solutions to this RFP. Bidders may submit multiple but separate proposals with different equipment models.

Your proposal shall include all elements of the water reclamation system, including storage tanks, pumps and any other features necessary. Equipment shall include a control center to allow CALPIA staff to access real time system data regarding reclaimed water. Your proposal shall also include costs for delivery and installation, training, and warranty. If proprietary supplies are required, a breakdown of the monthly supply requirement and cost shall also be included.

Each bidder is expected to attend the mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit unless the vendor attended the previous site visits for RFP PO9201.15214. At that time, you will have the option of measuring the available floor space for the purpose of completing proposals.

CALPIA reserves the right, before the conclusion of the contract term to extend the contract for an additional one-year period. A written and approved amendment will be required to extend the contract prior to contract expiration.
