About this file
This is an addendum to RFP AADA 2016000080 issued by the State for recycling stations. The addendum modifies the specification requirements for trim material on the recycling stations in response to product samples submitted by vendors EcoVision and CleanRiver. The original specification required Ipe wood or approved equal wood trim in brown (Pantone 469 C) with State approval of the stain color. The State has determined it is in its best interest to expand the acceptable materials to include plastic trim as an alternative to wood, provided the plastic is manufactured from at least 90% recycled content. Vendors proposing non-Ipe wood trim materials must submit trim that is virtually similar to brown Pantone 469 C, and the State will not allow additional time for sample submission and approval due to project time constraints.
Proposers must provide proof of recycled content for any plastic trim materials submitted with their bids. The addendum represents a material change to the original bid documents and must be acknowledged by bidders either through signing and returning the addendum in a separate sealed envelope or by acknowledging receipt within the submitted proposal. All potential vendors whose products meet the minimum RFP requirements are encouraged to submit samples for State review in accordance with RFP instructions.

RFP AADA 2016000080
Recycling Stations Addendum_2
This Addendum modifies the Bid Document(s) for Work only to the extent indicated herein. All other areas not specifically mentioned or affected by this Addendum shall remain in full force. This Addendum shall be added as a part of the Original Bidding Document.
This Addendum is issued to respond to products submitted for approval.
Several samples for the Ipe wood trim material submitted for review did not meet the requirements of the RFP. The samples were submitted by EcoVision and CleanRiver. The State responded to each of these suppliers in emails.
However, after considering the requests from these two firms the State has determined that it would be in the best interest of the State to modify one of the specifications in the bid. The current specification under 3.1, Additional product requirements for all Recycling Stations, sub 8) reads:
8) The State request that the stations have Ipe wood, or approved equal wood trim in brown (Pantone 469 C). Approved equal wood trim stain color must also be approved by the State
The State is deleting this requirement in its entirety and replacing with:
8) The State request that the stations have Ipe wood, or approved equal wood or plastic trim in brown (Pantone 469 C). If plastic trim is proposed, the plastic must be manufactured using at least 90% recycled content. Proposer shall provide proof of trim material recycled content with the bid.
Due to the time constraints to complete this project, the State cannot allow additional time for the submission of samples for approval. As such, any trim that is submitted that is not Ipe wood must be virtually similar to brown Pantone 469C.
As per the RFP instructions, all potential vendors whose product meets the minimum requirements of the RFP are strongly encouraged to submit samples per the RFP instructions for review.
END OF ADDENDUM
This addendum represents a material change and its receipt should be returned with the bidders proposal, signed and in a separate sealed envelope or by acknowledging it in the submitted proposal.
