About this file
This is Addendum 1 to RFP AADA 2016000080 issued by the State of Colorado for custom recycling stations for the State Capitol Building. The addendum addresses proposer inquiries regarding container specifications and clarifies that while the RFP references specific container designs, dimensions, colors, and materials, alternative products meeting minimum requirements are welcome for consideration. Bidders may submit similar color and material alternatives for review, provided the dimensions approximate those specified to ensure proper fit in designated Capitol Building locations. All plastic components must contain a minimum of 90% recycled content to meet the RFP's minimum quality and design standards.
The addendum emphasizes that the specifications were not designed to discourage participation but rather to establish baseline requirements for the recycling stations. Vendors whose products satisfy the RFP minimum requirements are strongly encouraged to submit product samples for evaluation in accordance with RFP instructions. The addendum does not constitute a material change to the original bid documents and does not require signatures or return with bid responses.

RFP AADA 2016000080
Recycling Stations Addendum_1
This Addendum modifies the Bid Document(s) for Work only to the extent indicated herein. All other areas not specifically mentioned or affected by this Addendum shall remain in full force. This Addendum shall be added as a part of the Original Bidding Document.
This Addendum is issued to respond to a question from a potential Proposer.
Question While reviewing the bid we noticed it has been written around a specific container including design, color and materials. Is there room to recommend an alternative container or would this simply be a waste of time?
State Response:
The specifications and product referenced in this RFP are to be considered as a minimum standard of quality and design required for use in the State Capitol Building. The specifications were not written to intentionally discourage any proposers from participating in the RFP. Although the product design (dimensions) may appear somewhat restrictive, these approximate dimensions are required in order for the recycle stations to fit in the areas required by the State. The specifications also state that the dimensions are approximate and that bidders can submit similar color and materials* for review. The products submitted for review will be evaluated based on the RFP minimum requirements.
* The requirement of materials is that all plastic must contain a minimum of 90% recycled content.
As per the RFP instructions, all potential vendors whose product meets the minimum requirements of the RFP are strongly encouraged to submit samples per the RFP instructions for review.
END OF ADDENDUM
This addendum does not represents a material change and is not required to be signed and returned with the bid response.
