About this file
This document is a comprehensive insurance renewal package for Academy School District 20, covering multiple liability and risk management policies for the period of July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2025. The package includes detailed coverage summaries for Property and Casualty Insurance, Commercial General Liability, Automobile Liability, Educator's Legal Liability, Law Enforcement Liability, Site Pollution Incident Legal Liability, Cyber Liability, Executive Liability, Workers' Compensation, and Crime insurance. Each policy section outlines specific coverage limits, deductibles, premiums, and notable considerations for the school district and its foundation.
The total annual premium for the comprehensive insurance package is approximately $1,456,897, with individual policy premiums ranging from $876 for Executive Liability to $244,145 for Workers' Compensation. The policies provide extensive protection across various risk categories, including property damage, bodily injury, legal liability, cyber incidents, employee-related claims, and criminal activities. Notable features include claims-made policy forms, worldwide coverage territories, defense expense coverage, and specific sublimits for unique scenarios like social engineering fraud, workplace violence, and pollution incidents. The renewal maintains continuity dates from previous years, with some policies having retroactive dates as far back as July 1, 2011, ensuring comprehensive historical coverage for the school district.

b. Subcontractors: Most Workers’ Compensation laws provide that you are responsible for injury to employees of your subcontractors who are not otherwise covered by Workers’ Compensation insurance. In addition, your insurance company may charge additional premium for them as employees.
To avoid this situation, we recommend you require all subcontractors to provide Certificates of Insurance evidencing proper coverage, and these be maintained in your files.
c. Overtime Remuneration: In most cases, the extra pay for overtime work can be excluded from the payroll on which premium is computed if your records show overtime pay separately by employee and in summary by classification.
d. Unless specifically added to the policy, there is no Employer’s Liability coverage in the states of North Dakota, Ohio, Washington, or Wyoming. For Workers’ Compensation coverage for these states, you must purchase coverage directly from the states listed. These states are monopolistic states.
e. If you commence operations in states other than those listed above, we must be notified or there will be no coverage in those states.
f. Higher limits may be available. Please contact us if you are interested in pursuing them.
g. In compliance with the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002, terrorism claims cannot be excluded from Workers’ Compensation policies. Therefore, a premium charge will be made on all policies.
h. The premium shown is auditable, and is based on the following payroll estimates:
