About this file

This document is an addendum to Request for Proposal (RFP) 24-009 issued by the City of Commerce in Georgia for Utility Pole Replacement. The RFP seeks experienced labor to replace 15 utility poles within the City. The addendum addresses questions from bidders, including the lack of a bid bond requirement, responsibility for tree trimming and lawn repairs, and the use of a hydro vac truck to dig the pole holes. The City stated that they will have their own tree trimmer handle the necessary trimming, and the contractor is responsible for any property damage, including lawn repairs. The City also clarified that the contractor must include the cost of using a hydro vac truck in their bid if they choose to utilize that method.

The contract will require a performance bond in the amount of 110% of the contracted amount upon signing of the contract. There are no set-asides or incumbent information provided. The document does not specify the funding source or contract term.

ADDENDUM #2

RFP 24-009

Utility Pole Replacement

This addendum is being issued to address questions submitted on RFP 24-009

Q1. Checking to see if this proposal requires a Bid Bond? I don't see one in the proposal.

A1. There will be no requirement of a bid bond; only a performance bond. Per section 2.1.7 - A performance bond in the amount equal to 110% of the contracted amount will be required upon signing of contract.

Q2. Is the successful contractor responsible for tree trimming? Locations 6, 8, 9, 12, and 14 all need trimming to perform the work in a safe manner and to prevent service interruptions to your customers. Additionally, location 14 will require ground lever cutting to access the pole. Is the property owner going to allow this and who is responsible for the cutting?

A2. We can have our tree trimmer do the trimming before the work starts.

Q3. There are a couple of off-road locations. Are we responsible for lawn repairs for crossing these lawns?

A3. The Contractor is responsible for lawn repairs or any property damage.

Q4. 3. Many of these locations will require a hydro vac due to underground utilities in the area. Does the City own a vac truck that can do this work, or should we include the cost of this in our pricing?

A4. If the contractor wants to use a Hydro vac truck to dig the holes for the poles, then that is their responsibility and should include it in their bid.
