About this file
This document is an addendum to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the City of Commerce, Georgia for the 2024 LMIG Street Paving project. The RFP seeks qualified professional service providers to provide experienced labor for paving work on streets in the City of Commerce. The contractor shall provide the necessary labor, equipment, materials, and other requirements for the successful completion of the project, which has a contract time of 180 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. The addendum addresses several questions related to the project, including payment terms, patching requirements, asphalt material type, and curb/driveway tie-in considerations.
The RFP indicates that the City of Commerce will pay a lump sum for the project, but requests an itemized breakdown from bidders. The city will handle any necessary patching work prior to the contractor beginning work. The city has no preference on the asphalt material type, and will allow for overlays that may result in the new pavement being higher than existing curbs. Bidders must sign and return the addendum with their proposal, as failure to do so may result in the proposal being deemed non-responsive.

ADDENDUM #2
RFP 24-004
LMIG Street Paving
This addendum is being issued to address questions submitted on RFP 24-004
1. Will the city pay per Unit Price or a lump sum? We will pay a lump sum but would like to see an itemized breakdown as well.
2. Can you provide an estimated SY and thickness so we can provide a budget for the patching? If patching is needed, we will have our Public Works department do patch work before the contractor starts work.
3. What is the material type of Asphalt that the city wants? 9.5mm Type ll or 12.5mm No preference; please recommend.
4. Alot of the roads are already flush with the driveway tie ins, so if we overlay the previous with 1.5" then it will be over the curb. Is the city okay with this? Yes.
This addendum should be signed and returned with your proposal. Failure to do so may result in the proposal being non-responsive.
