About this file

This document is an addendum to RFP 24-004 LMIG Street Paving, issued by the City of Commerce in Georgia. The RFP seeks experienced professional service providers to provide labor for the 2024 LMIG street paving project in the City of Commerce. The project scope includes overlaying 1.5 inches of asphalt topping on various streets, with some leveling and patching as needed. The contract period is 180 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Sealed bids are due by 2:00 PM on June 13, 2024, and will be publicly opened and read aloud on the same day. The City of Commerce reserves the right to reject any and all submissions.

The addendum provides responses to several questions related to the project scope, including handling tie-ins to driveways and curbs, dealing with existing drain structures and speed bumps, and whether to provide a bid sheet with unit prices or a lump sum price. The City will provide a vendor master form and accepts the AIA standard bid bond form. The warranty is limited to workmanship only, without coverage for reflective cracking.

ADDENDUM #1

RFP 24-004

LMIG Street Paving

This addendum is being issued to address questions submitted on RFP 24-004

1. Is the City holding retainage? If so, what is the percent retainage? NA

2. Are all the streets just getting overlayed with 1.5" of Topping? Yes

3. Is there any milling on this project? No

4. Is there any leveling on this project? Yes

5. Is there any Patching on this project? If needed

6. What is the Material type for the Topping? Asphalt

7. If the scope is to just overlay the roads with 1.5" topping, how do you want to handle tie ins to driveways or side roads? Aprons Included

8. If the scope is to just overlay the roads with 1.5" topping, how do you want to handle tie ins to existing curb?

Asphalt up to the curb.

9. On Central avenue, I noticed there is double yellow. Can you update the street list to notate this? Updated

10. On Central avenue, there is a drain structure that is already lower than the street. Is the intention to just overlay this street with 1.5" of Topping? If it needs to be raised, Commerce City will raise.

11. On Thomas Dr, is the contractor to pave all the parking areas? No.

12. On Thomas Dr, there is a speed bump or two. How would you like the contractor to proceed with them? We will remove them prior to work beginning.

13. On Wilhard St, there is part of the street that is missing as of today (5/30/24). Is the contractor just placing 1.5" topping on this street? Disregard the part that is missing.

14. Would you like the contractor to provide a bid sheet with the different items and include unit prices or just one total lump sum price? Itemize.

15. The documents call for an 18-month warranty on all work. Normally our warranties do not include reflective cracking because unless the previous road is patched and fixed prior to topping, you can expect reflective cracking within 12 months. However, we warranty workmanship on our projects. Is this the type of warranty that you are looking for or are you looking for a warranty that covers any kind of cracking Only warranty workmanship.

16. Page 4, section 1.12, it states that all submissions shall include a completed vendor master form, can the city supply that form? Yes.

17. A bid bond form was not supplied, will the city accept the AIA standard bid bond form? Yes.

This addendum should be signed and returned with your proposal. Failure to do so may result in the proposal being non-responsive.
