About this file
This document is an Addendum to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the Salem Area Mass Transit District (SAMTD) for Business Insurance Broker Services. The RFP seeks proposals for an initial three-year base contract term, with four additional one-year options. The Addendum provides clarifications and responses to questions, including details on the current insurance policies, coverage, and broker compensation. It also extends the solicitation close and response due date to November 17, 2022.
The current broker, Brown & Brown Northwest, has held the contract for eight years and places all lines of coverage for SAMTD. The current broker compensation is on a quarterly fee-for-service basis, not commission-based, with an annual amount of $27,018. SAMTD is particularly concerned about coverage for property, liability, and workers' compensation. The successful proposer must be licensed by the State of Oregon to provide the required services.
