REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS #2022-20
COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION TO ADMINISTER DISTRIBUTION OF ARPA FUNDS
RESPONSE TO CLARIFYING QUESTIONS
March 30, 2022
Note that these are questions submitted by interested firms to the above referenced solicitation. The below answers are for clarification purposes only and in no way alter or amend the RFP as published.
1. We are basic need nonprofit working mainly in reducing food insecurity. We support households with a grocery delivery program and hot meal program but also over 20 community partners, smaller organizations-mutual aid groups-refugee organizations etc with food. Can we apply for these funds to purchase food to distribute to our community partners and/or to families via our additional food programs?
Answer: Yes, you could apply for these funds to purchase food to distribute to community partners and families you serve. You would also need to distribute the dollars to meet other basic needs to other non-profits beyond your network as specified within the published RFP. If you choose to propose on this RFP, you would include in your proposal how you would design a program to distribute basic needs/goods and dollars to fellow non-profits who serve populations who have basic needs (food and other potential needs). Within the proposal, you could incorporate a fair process to allow for your own organization to also have a dollar amount to allow you serve your families/communities. Awarded contract would work with the County on ensuring that the criteria is in alignment with ARPA guidelines and that there is an equitable process to distribute the basic needs items.
