About this file
This is a sample work scope document issued by Austin Energy, a utility operated by the City of Austin, Texas, for the repair and modification of a vertical turbine pump at the Decker Creek Power Station. The scope of work requires a qualified pump repair service vendor to disassemble, inspect, and develop a comprehensive repair plan for a Byron Jackson Model 20 HQO pump with four stages (Serial Number 871-H-0004) that has been in continuous operation since its installation in 1987. The pump is critical infrastructure used to convey water from the Colorado River to the Walter E. Long Lake cooling reservoir that supports the power plant's operations. The pump station is located on FM 969 in Austin, Texas. The contractor must evaluate the pump's condition based on industry best practices and standards applicable to this pump type and service application, recommend modifications to enhance reliability, and implement the recommended improvements.
The contractor is expected to conduct a thorough evaluation and develop the repair scope independently, utilizing established industry standards and best practices for vertical turbine pump repair and maintenance. The document does not specify pricing terms, contract duration, response deadlines, or award dates, as this is a sample work scope rather than a complete RFP. This work scope is associated with Austin Energy's broader utility pump maintenance contract covering Sand Hill Energy Center, Decker Creek Power Station, and on-site energy resources across multiple facilities.
