SUBJECT: RFI Questions and Answers– FA524025QM176 – 554 F-18 Egress Trainer
1. Para 5 of the salient characteristics states that “The Egress trainer should mimic the dimensions of an actual F-18” The dimensions of an actual F-18 are 56’ Long x 15’ Tall x 37’ Wide. Can you please clarify if a scaled version of the actual dimensions is acceptable (i.e. 70% scale), and if so what scale is acceptable.
a. For the purpose of our training and what we are needing to accomplish, the F-18 can be scaled down. However, the cockpit, landing gear and other emergent components must be in normal standards and positions. The wings can be scaled down if need be. The F-18 does not need to have a full engine. So, in terms of a percentage, it could be no less than a 70% scale.
