About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) with detailed responses from the Department of Veterans Affairs regarding the Repurpose Fountain project. The RFI covers 18 specific questions about project logistics, including drilling specifications (nine 2-inch diameter holes), electrical source location (room B16), debris removal (contractor responsible for daily removal), and work performance expectations (primarily on Saturdays during low occupancy). Key requirements include removing current fountain plumbing, interior tile veneer, plumbing bump-out, water, debris, and electrical components, then drilling holes in the basin and filling it with potting soil to a minimum 2-foot depth. The VA will handle plant selection and planting after soil placement. Additional project details specify no irrigation, no waterproofing of wall sides, and flexible work hours with potential coordination during normal business hours. Bonding requirements are minimal, with no payment bond necessary unless the bid exceeds $150,000.
