About this file
This Request for Information (RFI) document is issued by the California Department of General Services, Procurement Division (DGS-PD) to solicit market information regarding PPE advanced cleaning, advanced inspection, repair, and CO2 cleaning services. The RFI seeks to identify qualified suppliers capable of providing these services as National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) verified Independent Service Providers (ISPs) on a statewide basis. Interested suppliers must submit responses to Attachment A (Response Worksheet) and any supporting product literature by 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on October 7, 2026, to Traci Fortier at Traci.Fortier@dgs.ca.gov or by phone at (279) 239-6158. A competitive Invitation for Bid (IFB) solicitation is anticipated to be released in early 2027, with resulting contracts structured for three (3) years plus two (2) optional one-year renewal extensions. The resulting contract will be mandatory for Cal Fire and non-mandatory for all other state agencies, while also being made available for use by local governmental agencies.
The RFI does not require suppliers to respond in order to participate in the upcoming competitive solicitation process, and supplier costs for developing RFI responses are not reimbursable by the State of California. All RFI responses will become public records subject to the California Public Records Act and available for public review. The RFI serves as a preliminary market assessment tool to gather information on current market conditions, service delivery methodologies, and the availability of qualified suppliers across multiple service regions defined in Attachment B. No specific pricing terms, set-asides, or funding amounts are detailed in this RFI, as it is an information-gathering phase preceding the formal competitive bidding process.
