About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) Response Worksheet issued by the California Department of General Services Procurement Division for the development of a statewide contract covering Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Advanced Cleaning, Advanced Inspection, Repair, and CO2 Cleaning services. The RFI seeks information from qualified suppliers regarding their capability to provide comprehensive PPE services including structural firefighting protective ensemble (SFPE) and wildland firefighting protective ensemble (WFPE) cleaning, inspection, and repair across multiple regions of California. Respondents are required to provide detailed information about service capabilities, geographic coverage areas, turnaround times, and operational capacity, with particular emphasis on their ability to meet service demands during peak fire seasons and accommodate accelerated delivery schedules when necessary.
Key evaluation criteria include supplier certifications such as California Small Business (SB) or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) status and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Verified Independent Service Provider designation. The state requires suppliers to accommodate Net 45 payment terms and extended payment periods of up to 75 days during declared fire seasons for non-small business suppliers. Respondents must clarify their standard advanced cleaning processes, inspection methodologies, minimum and maximum PPE item requirements, ability to service all manufacturer PPE regardless of source, and specific shipping and packaging procedures required before PPE delivery. Additional information requested includes whether suppliers can provide CO2 cleaning services within a 14-business day turnaround and their capacity to offer supplementary services such as equipment rental, pump system maintenance, and extractor reprogramming.
