About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document issued by the City of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin regarding RFP#21-BM45 for Police Department Carpet Replacement. The project involves replacing carpet tile and cove base molding throughout the police department facility. Specifically, the work includes installation of Luxury Vinyl Tile and Carpet Tile in the Police Dispatch Center, carpet replacement on the first floor, and replacement of approximately 2,064 linear feet of cove base molding on the second floor without toe cove base molding. The project requires contractors to work around the Police Dispatch Center's operational requirements, maintaining at least one of three workspaces functional at all times to receive emergency calls while minimizing noise during installation. The City of Sun Prairie staff will handle relocation of most office furniture, though contractors must disassemble and relocate cubicles in the Police Department basement to complete the flooring work. Questions were received by November 19, 2021, with answers posted by November 23, 2021.
Prevailing wages and Davis Bacon wage requirements do not apply to this project. The floor plan for the second floor office space was added to the bidding site following clarification requests. No specific pricing terms, award dates, contract term length, or funding source information is provided in this questions and answers document.

City of Sun Prairie RFP#21-BM45 – Police Department Carpet Replacement Questions Received by November 19, 2021
Answers Posted by November 23, 2021
1. There is a notice to comply with davis bacon and/or prevailing wages, but there is no wage determination in the specification. Could you please advise if PW apply to this project?
Prevailing wages do not apply to this project.
2. Looking through the description of work to be completed, it mentions the 2nd floor offices of carpet tile and covebase, but I do not see any plans of that space in VendorNet. Is this something that will be added, or does it need to be site measured?
We just need the cove base molding replaced on the second floor. We are not replacing any flooring on the second floor. We measured the length of cove base molding to be about 2,064 linear feet, which is in the RFP. The second floor office floor plan is now attached on our bidding sites.
3. What type of cove base molding will be installed on the second floor?
No toe cove base molding.
4. How much and what type of office furniture needs to be moved for this project?
City staff can handle moving most office furniture out of the way, but will need the contractor to disassemble and move or lift up the cubicles in the Police Department basement to complete the flooring project.
5. How should work be completed in the Police Dispatch Center?
Contractors will be installing Luxury Vinyl Tile and Carpet Tile in the Police Dispatch Center.
There are three workspaces in the Dispatch Center and at least one workspace needs to be functional at all times to receive calls. We also ask that the contractor keeps noises to a minimum, when possible.
