ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
SMALL PURCHASE PROCUREMENT
SCOPE OF WORK & PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
Date: April 12, 2021 File# 1-21-018
LOCATION: Hennepin Canal State Trail, 16006 875 East St, Sheffield, Bureau County, IL
PROJECT TITLE: Aqueduct #7 tree debris removal
PROJECT NARRATIVE:
Hennepin Canal has aqueduct that carry the canal water over drainage ditches and streams. These drainage ditches and streams bring debris from large rain events. This debris gets deposited or collects around the piers of the aqueducts. In 2019, a heavy rain event deposited a large amount of tree debris down the stream and blocked part of Aqueduct 7 drainage ways. It has allowed more debris to collect on this original blockage. The blockage needs to be removed so it doesn’t back up water from the stream and flood upstream property.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The contractor is to clear the blockage of tree debris from in front and under Aqueduct 7 to provide a clear path for water in the stream. The contractor will place that debris in a pile outside of the drainage way. The location of the pile is shown on the attached drawing.
The contractor will access IDNR property by use of a temporary easement as shown on attached drawing. The contractor will have to remove and pile any downed trees and the stumps as part of the access route in the pile. The contractor will restore any damaged area and field back to pre-construction grade/elevation. They will need to seed and install erosion blanket back on disturbed area outside of the ag field.
Copy of temporary easement will be supplied after award. The attached map shows easement route.
